We have a stray cat that has been frequenting our house and food bowls.
I have taken three ticks off him over the last two days, all of which are white in colour. When I squashed the tick to kill it, thick yellow liquid came out of them rather blood.
Has anybody else seen such a coloured tick in the UK?
Many thanks.

Are you sure it's a tick? Rover had ticks when he came to us as a stray, I took him to the vet for treatment. http://uk.merial.com/pet_owners/cats/ticks.asp

You don't want unknown parasites potientially dropping off in the house or attaching themselves to your other animal(s) - suggest you take him to the vet if he has no obvious owners?.

Thanks boxtops.
Anatomically they look like ticks, just a different colour (but I'm no entemologist).
White fat ticks are fully grown and sated with blood. A tick is small and brown, the heads always dig in and they must be gotten out.
My friends have just moved into a new place and two of their dogs have picked up ticks from the garden and they are white.

My friend put Frontline on them both to kill the ticks off properly.

I have a picture, will find and upload to see if it's similar.
Smother each tick with a large dollop of Vaseline and leave it there. They suffocate and fall off - head and all.
That's defo a ripe sated tick. make sure you get the head out. We always pinch them off with our nails and the burn them and they go pop!
Hello,i think the best thing would be to take it to a vet.
