Advice & thoughts needed
Hello, wow didn't expect to be posting a question like this!
I'd just like some advice and any thoughts or experiences would help me out a lot. I've just broken up with my boyfriend, I'm heart-broken & I just want one less thing to worry about!
I'm on the pill and have been for a few years. For the past few months though I admit I have been very irresponsible with it - missing it for days then taking one pill then missing another couple of days etc.
I split up with my boyfriend on Monday & decided to take a break from the pill for a while. A couple of days later I realised with horror that I couldn't remember when my last period was so I immediately bought a couple of home tests. They both showed up negative so I breathed a sigh of relief and thought nothing more of it.
But I was chatting with my friend yesterday and she said that i should really have had a period by now, and if I don't come on by next week I should do another test because the other two may be inaccurate if I haven't actually 'missed' my period yet. Does that make sense?

What you get between pills isn't a period as such, it's withdrawl bleeding - it might take a few months for your periods to become regular again. 'False' tests do occur, but are pretty rare. Anxiousness and being upset can delay things too, I wouldn't worry too much, I would put your chances of being pregnant at less than 10%.
