I vote that any unemployed person who cannot be bothered to get a job should be targeted. Some of them live off us workers like parasites. Im now 58 and have worked since I was 15 and only out of work for 3 months. Some were very small paid jobs but it was work. MyOtherHalf also has worked since leaving school taking any job that came along rather than be unemployed, even potato peeling for £2 phour and had to pay to get there. And will there be anything in the pension pot when we retire ??? Probably not, because we are paying out for these Lazy people who get everything paid for !!!!!
Depends what you determine as wealth and privelege.
I'm assuming you mean inheritable wealth and privelege -sorry if thats not what you meant.
I was acknowledging people who have worked darned hard instead of sitting on their bums or claiming benefits to enhance their lives and that of their families. Why should they be penalised ?

There are a huge number of areas where cuts can be made effectivley without affecting the front lines services we all need.
The welfare state is far too big, I'm all for getting the loafers off their butts and contributing to society but target the ones who have non intention of working not those who activley seek work.
The Civil Service, cut the huge amount of middle managers that every branhc of the service seems to have these days earning between £40K and £70K doing jobs that are created out of nothing.
Consultants and quangos - get rid of them all, we have an IT consultant works with us sometime he's earns £145 per day!!
Government - chop those salaries and perks by a chunk, we might then see some politicians who actually want to work for the state rather than join a gravy train.
Just so you know, I am a civil servant on a basic salary of less than 25k per year, without weekends and OT my wage would not be a livable income in this area....and we don't get these massive bonuses we hear about either.

Watching the news this morning it looks like the students are getting it....!!
Also...I watched something recently about the winter fuel payments. Where people of a certain age automatically qualify. One gentleman tried to return the payment as he didn't need it. Guess what? They had no system for returned payments. Apparently there are 1000's of households receiving fuel payments where they are not needed.
