Catherine Zeta Jones has been awarded a C.B.E. Why!, for crying out loud? Their must be other people who deserve an honour more than 'wots 'er name'.Don't you think so?....

The honours system is all a bit of a farce now.
It's governed by quotas and tokenism.
Why should celebrities be more worthy than someone who works hard all their life in a mundane job?
Load of nonsense.

Dont get me started grrrrrrrrrrr !!
stokemaverick o.b.e sounds rather good dont you think?....for services rendered to my local pub....lol
We have traditionally a "honours system"
So who should get these honours as clearly EVERYONE cannot be "honoured.
There will certainly be disagreements as to who should and who shouldn't be "honoured"
The system clearly cannot win and "outstanding service or bravery is not easy to define.
The guy who works in a mundane job all his life......why should he be honoured? Nothing brave or outstanding there.
The person who works all their lives in a mundane job BUT devotes his/her life to charity or bravery........that person is deserving.
The stars, wealthy and have a privileged life could indeed accept their lot and indulge themselves with scant regard for anybody else.....I might do that.
On the other hand, the "star" may devote a lot of their time to charitable organisations....surly they should be candidates.

The bottom line to me is.............the honours system does not affect my life at all, so why should I be bothered about who is honoured and who isn't?
