There may very well be legitimate concerns in some areas about immigration, social housing or council bias, but over many years the BNP has shot itself in the foot by accepting convicted criminals in its higher echelons, lunatic neo nazis in its membership and other weird, not very bright individuals associated with it. Every time there are concerns over how well the BNP might do in an election, I always laugh to myself,. because it's only a matter of time before one of their brain dead leaders completely ruins their chances by saying something bizarre in the press nor on TV. I recall with amusement the 2005 election when everyone was talking about the environment or council tax, and Nick griffin appeared onscreen saying that under a BNP government, everyone would be forced to keep an assault rifle under their beds. Face it - as well as being lunatic extremists, the BNP politicians aren't even very good at their jobs!
I know this post has gone slightly off track but the thing that gets me (and I have no idea who I will be voting for cause they are all liars) is that Conservative and Labour are all going "Don't vote for BNP" - well if they actually done something about the number of illegal immigrants that are over here then maybe people wouldn't feel the need to vote for them. And if a load of my tax wasn't going on an asylum seekers healthcare or house or car then I wouldn't consider voting them. When I left uni I went on jobseekers allowance as I was struggling to find a job. They gave me about 10 per week. Whoopee do. Meanwhile Abu Hamza was getting a free house, free car etc and preaching that we should all be killed. Hmmm something not right there!! And don't all go saying I am a racist as I think exactly the same about the scroungers that are from this country. I just think there is something very unfair about the way this country runs. Anyway that's my rant over!!
The BNP do oppose the civil partnership bill as one of its main commitments is to focus on the family (husband wife and children) of which gay couples do not fall into. HOWEVER, The bnp does recognise an individuals right to his/her own sexuality in the privacy of one's own home. There are gay people who support the party because of various issues such as islam (where under sharia law in certain muslim countries being gay is an offence punisable by death) and genuinely fear sharia law being implemented in the uk (as a recent survey showed over 30%(which equates to over half a million) of current british muslims in favour of sharia law being implemented)
As a resident of Burnley I can provide an anecdote. My mate *** is gay and somewhat promiscuous although he looks straight. His favoured target has muscles and a shaved head. Luckily there was/is a regular convention of neo nazis in Rossendale at which he has never failed to pull.
I don't think he has got as far as Nick Griffin yet.

Although the BNP has publicly ditched some of its most extreme and bigoted policies, many critics believe this make-over is just an astute public relations exercise designed to con people were put off by its neo-Nazi image. They say the BNP hasn't changed at all; it has just got more professional and media savvy.
The BNP fought previous general elections on a pledge to outlaw homosexuality. It has described Aids as nature taking revenge on gay men.
The party's website claims that: Sexually-transmitted diseases are no joke. Thanks to them, the average life-expectancy of a gay man is now 40, compared to 71 for all men
Claiming that the gay rights lobby target school children, the BNP has opposed gay equality reforms like the repeal of Section 28 and the abolition of the unequal age of consent. It has also condemned and ridiculed LGBT History Month
Soon after the neo-Nazi bombing of a gay bar in Soho, London , in 1999, which killed three people and maimed dozens more, BNP leader Nick Griffin seemed to excuse and endorse the homophobic hatred that inspired the terrorist atrocity. He attacked lesbian and gay people for flaunting their perversion and said this showed why so many ordinary people find these creatures so repulsive.
Griffin has also denounced homosexuality as form of behavioural deviancy and not a valid lifestyle choice. He claims the BNP speaks for the majority of the population who, he says, believe homosexuality is wrong and that it needs to be pushed humanely but firmly back into the closet. Griffin warns that if gays continue to press their aims further there will be an almighty backlash which will result in the imprisonment of all homosexuals.
Griffin is not alone. Mark Collett, former chairman of the Young BNP, described homosexuals as "AIDS Monkeys", "bum bandits" and "faggots" and said the idea of homosexuality was a "sickening

In the interests of getting the debate back on track, i checked the BNP policy on homosexuality a few years ago before their pathetic and transparant attemt at legitimacy and basically the website said ...
gay people are not allowed to show any public displays of affection (hand holding etc)
gay people are not to be in any positions of influence within society (particularly with reference to children)
homosexuality can only be referred to within all aspect of the media as something unnatural, not "promoted"?
and gay relationships can not be recgnised by law.
the same poeple that wrote this are leading the party today ...

And to that (10ClarionSt) I say, have you looked closely at the party you support, who, although they attempt to hide it behind unorganised speeches and dismissive replies, are mostly followed by a racist and homophobic audience. The people who follow this party who are not racist or homophobic, are generally following this party through the need to see change because of the immigration system, and do not agree with the harsh and completely unjust views of the majority of the BNP.
Shazbang, the BNP have in the past made it clear they do not support homosexuality, but at this moment in time there is no written declarartion of their homophobic tendancies apart from their wish to remove teachings of homosexuality from primary schools.
