Answering questions

I know I don't come to the site very often, and questions are usually answered before I get to the website, but it would be helpful if all the thank you's were answered as they take up an awful lot of the Unanswered section.

I would argue that thankyous should be made within the original thread and not be placed within a new question thread.

The irony of the above statement is that I have been known to occasionally mention that there is often a complete lack of acknowledgement of my answers (albeit in other topic sections) and so for me to criticise gratitude in any form does appear churlish.

Agree about Thankyou's being in the original thread. I'm afraid that despite putting Thanks in advance, with my questions, I am still compelled to thank the person who brings my answer.  Guess being taught to say Thankyou through childhood worked. Thankyou ;-)

I must admit it does annoy me when 'questions' are just Username - thanks.

As people said, just post thanks in the original thread.

The problem is people don't check old threads once they have moved a few pages down from the front page (even though its very easy to do so from your profile) and so start a fresh thread.
