9 Answers
I have just received a letter from a debt collection agency called Red. They Are chasing a debt from 16 years ago. I called the company and they said it was for a Barclay card. I never had one. They then said it was for Littlewoods.( I thought that was a catalouge). Anyway the long and short of it is.This snotty woman said she would send me some forms out for a fraud case. Any suggestions?

If you google Red Debt Collection Agency, lots of links come up like this one:

It appears to be a scam, this particular thread says it's up to Red to prove that you are the debtor, I am sure others will advise, but don't send them anything, don't let them spook you.

There was an incident recently where someone who lives in a flat had their details used to buy loads of stuff from Littlewoods, the stuff came while the person was at work but somehow the scammer got in and collected the goods - flat owner knew nothing about it, hundreds of pounds worth of stuff ordered on her name on credit. Some catalogue companies (la Redoute is one) do a credit search on you before they will even mail you a catalogue.
