May i suggest to all that are getting them to run an anti-virus program in the background and eliminate them, if "move to chest" or delete option not selected....it may be a malicious one.....Chuck will know or the Ed once he/she turns up and gets the techies on the case and explains how this is happening.
Ive had this all evening too. I posted on the editors blog ages ago but no reply as yet.
Hi Guys,

Anyone who has had some sort of problem with the site: could you please list your browser and internet security set-up.

I will look into this tomorrow morning.

Outstanding! That'll help the Ed diagnose the problem... ;-)
Morning All,

Looks like it might be one of the advertisers having been infected at some point - but we cannot yet be sure.

This also seems to be mainly a Google Chrome problem - so we have no ruled out an error on Google's behalf.

4Get, did you mean AVG? What was the error message? More info would be appreciated.

All the best,

Spare Ed
Ed - I know you wouldn't appreciate people using AdBlock but, just in case the problem is advert related, Avast! hasn't given me any warnings at all and I am using AdBlock Plus in Firefox.
I was answering pasta not the ED Mark!! One day you'll Get off your high horse and join the real world
ED I'm not sure what it said until it comes up again, but I will try tell you then. I know something to do with Skype
I'd really prefer it if you tried to "make the ads go away" by clicking on them!

We'll have this fixed asap.

Spare Ed
I have Avast and Firefox and no Skype and am having no problems.
Hi Everyone,

When you get the warning could you all tick the box and "proceed" to webpage. If you could make note of the adverts the page displayed - this will help us identify which ad it is.

All the best,

Spare Ed
Cant go to ad because its blocking it. Its skype ad
Allus one smart alec isn't there (jno) "i have no problems, ner ner ner ner" ;-)

Ed, ive left you a message on the other thread about this, the one in Tech. As I said there, wouldn't it be better to slap any message or update you get about thyis problem on that one? No offence to Pasta, but any post you make on this thread will be shuffled off the page within the hour and we won't see it.

Make it a sticky in tech or in Suggs perhaps?

And hurry up about it will ya? As my 5 year old is constantly saying "this is doin' me nut in"
me and bibblebub both, B00. In fact we are about to launch our new malware-blocker-message-blocker onto the market today, price seventeen shillings and sixpence.
What have I done?

I was letting the ed know of my set-up which doesn't haven't a problem, and that can be just as important to know as when the problem does occur when it comes to fault fixing.
so was I, bibblebub, and I thought B00 was being highly unfair in resenting my malware-free state so I offered to sell her some, from my Nigerian depot.
I have Avast and Firefox and no Skype aswell, and am having no problems
