I don't know the answer though..

Can you get a parking ticket if you park facing the wrong way in a one way street?

This has just been asked by a friend on FB....I would presume the answer is Yes.

(when asked how she managed it she said she drove up the street the wrong way to get a parking space)

I would not attempt that in front of the police Kinell, even if you reverse park, that only applies if you have come down that One Way St to park up, if you have come up to a one way street off a main road you will get done if you are caught reversing into a parking space, more than likely this answer will be checked out from people on here.
i always thought that you only cannot exit or enter the road at the wrong ends...once in the road you can drive the other way...
it is a ' no entry' sign not a 'one way'... isnt it?
for instance if you lived at number 88 and wanted to pick something heavy up from number 3, you could go back down

i might be wrong but my dad told me that
so you cant parallel park now?? that ridiculous
If you are going up that O W ST Joko, & you live at the middle or the top 7 you wanted to pick something up at No 3 or so, you will have to go around to enter that street again ( By the law but who does).
She may have committed a traffic offence, but parking wardens have no authority over that.

The Police show so little interest in parked cars these days that I think it unlikely they would take any action unless they actually saw the car moving the wrong way.
am i right though?

it is a NO ENTRY sign...not a ONE WAY sign...so therefore once in the street you can go both ways...you just cannot enter from one end...??
No Joko, a one way street has blue signs with white arrows telling you which way you must travel.

No Joko....the no entry signs are just to make it clear for drivers that it's a one way street. Then, like Hopkirk says, you have small white arrows telling you which direction to travel in.
There is also a rule in the Highway code that says "You MUST NOT reverse your vehicle further than necessary"

So reversing all the way down a one way street would be illegal.
