Can I delete one of these programs?

In my add/remove programs section I've got these two programs
1. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
2. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2
The first one is 775MB and the second is 311MB.
Do I need both these or can I delete one of them?

You need both of them. don't delete either (or any) of the net frameworks, it will very likely stop other things working.

It is a bad idea to delete any program just because you dont know what it is (or think you dont use it).

"NET framework" is written by Microsoft and contains sets of code for OTHER programs to use (to help them get things done).

So as Chuck says, you have no idea what other programs use it, and if you delete NET framework all sorts of other programs will stop working.

Why do you want to delete it?

If you are running out of disk space then I am sure there many other things you could do to make some disk space.

If you just fancy a "tidy up" then deleting programs (unless you know exactly what they are) is a bad idea.
