you could:

hit the print screen key

open a page on Microsot Word

hit control v

and the page will appear, then you can email it as an attachment. There may well be simpler ways, I'm no IT genius.

jno - thanks so much - I did exactly what you suggested and it worked brilliantly - copy of my screen now winging it's way through cyberspace to land on The Ed's desk.
Boxtops - glad to have restored faith!
Vagrant - the proceedure works exactly the same with open office as (I presume) it does with Windows. thanks
Windows and OpenOffice are two different things.

All (modern) computers need an operating system just to run. An operating system allows users to work with the machine's hardware, and also to provide a framework for applications to operate. Windows is the most popular operating system around today. Others include MacOS and the various flavours of Linux, e.g. Ubuntu, SuSE etc.

OpenOffice, however, is application software. It is a suite of programmes which include word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation graphics etc. It is similar to Microsoft Office, but free.
Press Print Screen key and then use Ctri + V to paste it in Print program. At last save it.
