Ooh gross gran. Something in a red bottle - Tomorite? My dad used to put something weird on his toms - just can't remember what it was, but they were the size of tennis balls and delicious. It wasn't pee though, my mother would never have allowed it!

Wee has been used by compost makers for hundreds of years . Its nitrogen content aids the decomposing rate . I'm told Kew Gardens insisted that this should be done by all their gardeners , a bit like adding acceleraters to the compost mix.
