How about the Extra Addon Of Smileys When you post a question? If For example, If you are confuzed and asking the meaning of something, you could choose from the selection of 15-20 smileys and select a confuzed looking smiley. Just abit of fun in the answerbank, Nothing serious, I just thought it would make the question abit more interesting, Have abit more 'life' if you like.

Please post ur opinions here.

Why do I get the feeling the majority of folk think smilies are a bad idea so let CB have them? Is it because we post "inane" questions?

kegs.......you sad fool.....leave people alone......we're here to stay.....get used to it!!!!
I enjoy being inane, I am good at it and noone has ever told me it was illegal. I choose to be inane because if I had to be serious my children would think there was a serious problem.  I grew up in a generation that held Monty Python and The Flying Circus in awe and it defined our generation, not that that is the reason I am barkin, that is down to the Vodka and an obsession over small green and blue little people and a diesel fitter from north of the border that is giving me sleepless in seattle type dreams. oops, spilt me v&Dp again, waster.
well put the>one. If people don't like Chatterbank, don't go there. I wouldn't go into a shop I didn't like, in fact I'd completely ignore it. Do the same to us and we'll reciprocate the sentiment!

hey all, yeah i agree with everyone above my post on this page, (that saved a lot of typing) lol

In defence of Kags' remarks:

Answerbank was set up as a question and answer site, but because of general banter that was coming into the main sections ChatterBank was set up for users of the site (both new and old users) so that we could extend our chats from the main sections and also discuss topics of general interest, from the mundane to the serious.  Those of you who used the site before ChatterBank will know how much effort users and the Editor made to get this up and running.  ChatterBank was not intended for the reason it is being used for now.  And calling Kags a sad fool is an example of bad use of the section.  Most of the users on ChatterBank now are completely new to the site and only have interest in the ChatterBank section and it is not fulfilling it's intended purpose for those of us that wanted it, i.e.:

'Recently added is The ChatterBank category, where members can chat about issues of general interest or continue a discussion initially started in an AnswerBank thread.'

Personally, we all enjoy a bit of banter and good fun so because we don't like what has happened doesn't make us saddos.  And please don't tell us if we don't like it we don't have to go to Chatterbank, because without us old timers ChatterBank wouldn't have existed in the first place.  We wanted it, we still want it, we just want it used for the purposes intended.

FP, get back into your pram!  I'm a relatively new member of AB and it was a long time before I even looked at CB.  When I did I read the whole of the introduction which included discussing the minutae of the day, such as what you are having for tea.

Please feel free to quote AB whenever you choose, but if you do, afford us the courtesy of making it a complete quotation.  And yes, I know, I may have slightly misquoted above.

The quotation was the complete piece about ChatterBank taken from the home page.  Take a look.  Your rudeness and lack of abililty to discuss things in a civil fashion is just what I would expect from ChatterBank these days.

Can you explain further nfn?? What's wrong with FP's quote?

I think that Kags' point is valid and that the "CB threads" has spread to the rest of AB. It's correct that if you don't like CB you can stay away from it, but then it must be fair to say "keep CB away from the rest of AB". Don't get me wrong I don't mean the users, just the very chatty, fake or whatever it could be threads, that actually belong to CB. I must admit I don't like them, and I don't like that I might look at perfectly real questions, that aren't a wind up, but writing them off as such, because they're written by certain users.

Last, sorry MTIH1992   for not answering your question at all :0)

MTIH1992.  I meant to say that nothing I have said relates to your very valid question here, it was just as a result of the rude comment to Kags by the>one.  There seems to be a group of people of here who have no concern for the feelings of others or the fact that this site is a family site.  There are plenty of chat sites that can be used for infantile postings about bodily functions for example.

And Matt, great use of the star rating system  - i.e. three stars to everyone who likes your ideas.  You obviously don't like people to disagree with you ;o)
