L Ron Hubbard did quite well out of inventing scientology so perhaps mazdaology would work after all mazdas work, the dao bit in the middle looks kind of mystical and the ology makes it look as if it is grounded in some sort of reality however spurious. You could be on to a winner and I'll be quite happy with only 1% of your takings (financial) if you use my suggestion. By the way you will need some kind of myth to base it all on. I just happen to have a book of myths......(cheap)
Mazda myth 1. Mazda gets struck by lightning(standard ingredient) The engines ECU somehow(it doesn't matter how) becomes a conduit to a race of super intelligent extra-terrestrials (they would have to be wouldn't they). As the owner of the car you are now the high priest and can interpret the messages that are displayed on the trip computer. Its a difficult job but someone has to do it..
When Gods get involved they often change the name of the entity they inhabit to represent the embodiment of spirit. Abram became Abraham etc
You can change Mazda to any name you like.
For a good few tips on setting up a cult Googe the cult Infinity Forms of Yellow Rememeber. This guy really knows how to make a joke of spiritual names yet they are still faithful.
Obviously you can choose the name of your religion, after all the 'L Ron Hubbard pension fund' probably wouldn't have got a lot of devoted followers unless they could see a way of making a buck or two out of it.
Good observation wizard, but that's why I mentioned that mazdaism is already taken. I believe it even pre-dates Islam.
I am quite taken by jomifl's Mazdaology. It projects a genuine teaching and I am convinced many would want to donate to such a worthy cause. Maybe even a government grand.
Perhaps Crackhead is right, it would be a cult to start with but surely it could be upgraded to a 'true' religion when there are enough gullble idiots. Sorry that should have read 'true believers'.
You're right jomifl, I felt a rush of ingenious supreme feeling come over me yesterday. I was busy at the time but mean to pop down to the bookies today, but alas, the feeling has not returned so I'll just have to go to work.
Yes that does happen I believe (not in the religious sense). What you need now is some followers so that when the feeling comes over you again you can take advantage. ( In the biblical sense would be appropriate as you are now the high priest of the worlds latest cult).
