I really don't know South West England atall. Where is a quite well-to-do (not snobby, mind!!) area in Devon. Looking for a propety with sea views here! Price range about £250,000-£500,000.
Or where is a nice area to live in South England... near the coast if possible or maybe just a nice English town. Been searching for properties in South West and have no idea if the area i'm looking at is good or bad! Please name me some!!

Just out of curiosity....

If you live in Cornwall day trips to London are not practicable. What kind of coast do you want, cliffs, shingle beaches, sandy beaches or salt marshes. Its all available
Are you talking North or South Devon coast? They are very different
You might find it hard to get a sea view with that price range. Here in Suffolk, a mid-terrace house in Southwold (with sea views) is currently offered for around one million pounds. (The beach huts sell for £80,000 each in Southwold!).

I don't know Devon very well but, from my brief visits there, the coastal area around Bude is delightful:

Try looking at South |Waes coast, you can see Devon! lovely friendly places, great scenery, house prices are not bad!..........Really lovely beaches here too!................
I live in North Devon, a truly beautiful area!!!

look around, Westward Ho! Northam, Georgeham, Croyd, lots of little villages and easily accessible and on the coast, not far from link road to M5
Oh, bu**er. I really should learn to read maps better.

My excuse it that I meant to refer to the coastal strip from Bude northwards, up as far as Hartland Point. Half of that is in Devon (or is it in Yorkshire? Or in Cumbria, perhaps? - I was never very good at geography!).

Chris
Bude is only just down the road from me in Devon, you are excused :-)
Ratter. I come from ND too. How`s Saunton Beach at the mo - good surf?
Hey, Im on the other side, I can see the Saunton Sands Hotel but not much of the beach from where I am, The surf is looking good!

You still living in N.Devon?
Here's a good link sophie.......Wembury,Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are all within a few miles of Plymouth....convenient for shopping. Plymouth itself is just minutes from Dartmoor.

Where have you looked so far??
Ratter, no I live in the south east now. i`ll go back home though to live in the future. I was there in June. If you`re near Bude, we used to hang out at a nightclub called Headlands. Had many a boozy night there and around the Hartland area although I come from nearer Croyde/Woolacombe.
Buenchico, you would easily find quite a few houses for sure with a good sea view in that price range. We recently had our house on the market easily within that price range but the sea is half a mile away, you can still see it from upstairs though! :-)
sophie,
There are some lovely places on the north Somerset coast and they are a bit cheaper than Cornwall, Devon or Dorset. E.g. Clevedon, Minehead, Weston-Super-Mare etc.
