"British Jobs for British People"?

It sounds politically correct to me.

The problem is is that it is used by the BNP as a euphemism for "Get those foreigners out of our country" in turn, "foreigners" is a euphemism for anyone who isn't white so the original phrase becomes loaded with racism.
Let's see

Suppose I'm running a company and I want to employ the best people at the best rate so I can make the most competetive products and win customers and succeed

But no You come and tell me you can't employ them - you have to employ these people who may not be so good but they're British.

Then you run off down to Curries and buy a Bosh Washing machine in your German made car regreting that "We don't make anything in this country any more"

British jobs for British people is just another way of asking for racial discrimination in the workplace and would sentence our industry to a slow lingering death
jake, did you see the program about this a while a go, think it was called "Where did all the immigrants go?", they gave a few unemployed British people (who claimed they were desperate to work) jobs where migrant workers are usually employed. They were mostly rubbish, not turning up, moaning the work was too hard etc, I know they may have chosen people likely to do this but it was just embarrasing!
Actually, Bosch employs 5000 people in the UK, foreign jobs for British people? Admittedly this is a small percentage of the number of people they employ in China, India and Brazil, not to mention the 100,000 people they employ in Germany. Yes, I looked at their website!

The problem isn't that British people are particularly lazy or produce poor output, it's just that British people expect a way of life that costs a lot more to support than manufacturing companies can afford to pay to stay competetive.

I don't see the statement above to be particularly racist or discriminatory although it can be construed as so, it is a good idea that will never happen until the cost of living an 'average life' in Britain is less than in Poland, Romania, Turkey, China, India, etc. etc. etc. etc.
It goes against the spirit of the Common Market, or whatever it's called now.
lindy emmigrate to australia. and look for a job and the same headline only australia rather than britain, would that be PC ?
Yes, there were mixed results as I recall

I work in a high tech industry - in my team we have people from Britain Australia, France, Spain America and we are just opening up development offices in Chile.

Without the ability to recruit talented people from around the world to come here and work we'd simply shut up shop in the UK and people like me would follow the work

On a lighter note

People from nations we aided during WW2 emigrated in their droves, bringing with them their weights and measures in the "New Europe".
But, I wasn't sucker punched in to the scam...

I told people...give 'em 2.54 cm and they will take 1.6km.
Give us back our Groats!
For starters the J and the P in "Jobs" and "People" should not be capitalised.
