connection problem!!!!

I leave my computer on all the time and am connected to broadband. My problem is when the computer not used for a while my internet connection will not do anything whatsoever. when my home page is maximized and i try to go to any site it just sits ther doing nothing and eventually brings up page unavailable. when i disconnect to try restarting broadband connetion it will not connect at all, it just sits there trying to connect. when i restart my computer it reconnects in an instant and will stay connected, until i leave computer for x amount of time and then i have to go through the whole process again! any one have any ideas why this is? i'm on bt broadband by the way.

It sounds like your IP address is expiring and not being renewed by your DHCP server. You can do this manually by clicking START, then RUN and typing CMD. At the prompt type ipconfig /release and press enter. The type ipconfig /renew. This should sort it
