We've all heard over the past couple of days that atheism is coming to the fore around these here parts. Now apparently atheism is being linked to Naziism. In fairness, it seems obvious that the more atheists there are, the less religious people there are, hence less money flowing into their(Vatican) coffers. These guys are just doing what any other gangster would do, protecting their own interests. The worrying thing is that their gang is bigger and, I would go out on a limb and say, more extreme than the atheist's gang. Should a fight break out, I wouldn't give atheists a hope in heck of winning what would most likely be a bloodbath(look at the history). Is this a declaration or war on atheists?

I do wish people would stop regarding 'atheism' as another religion or a social practice.
Atheism IMO is passive, not active.
Atheism "opts out" of what is offered to or forced upon people IMO it's a void, not a 'thing'.
Zabadak- my comment was ' The church will take out anyone and anything in order to survive' - what did you think I meant with a machine gun???
Don't include that in a list of 'future violence' either- it was intended to imply that the Church is in a desperate crisis and will go all out to try to discredit and undermine rational thinking from Atheists- not have 'em all bundled into the back of a transit van and buried under a motorway bridge- don't take everything so literally and so out of context:)
Birdie - I considered (briefly) leaving your comment out as the one least likely to foreshadow actual violence. Naomi could not (apparently) see any such comment in the thread, suggesting either that I was mistaken or that I was deliberately lying. The way I see this subject remains absolutely consistent. The notion of atheists being in mortal danger because of a resurgent church is absurd, and personally, I doubt whether you'll even have much to worry about in respect of "fighting (in a figurative way) ". If I have given you offence in this, I apologise, but I did not dream up the other examples.
NOX: you'll notice I suggested a nice chow mein. A normal meaning of "take out" (and in your context the most likely meaning) is "to kill, destroy or defeat" (Chambers). Or did you mean "treat to a nice candlelit dinner"?
Answerprancer - you have to admit, it's sometimes a d----d noisy void around here 8-)
Zabadak- I meant what I said I meant and any rational person would have appreciated the context of that- not blown it out of proportion and tried to scuttle around the context to make it something it isn't- by all means you go and have a nice candlelit soiree with the Holy Roman Church, but don't imply that anyone who thinks they are a threat to free speech is some sort of paranoid nutcase whose terrified of machete wielding priests.
NOX *some* entries on this thread are quite clear: they fear a bloodbath or being imprisoned or killed. It's a relief (but not much surprise) to know that not everyone thinks that way. I hope in my own small way I may have helped to reduce that fear. That's all 8-)
I see you're a 'last word' man Zabadak...lol
Yeah, it seems I just annoy everyone until they can't be bothered to answer any more.
BTW - sorry to read about your troubles ( I caught your name going by on the "latest posts" and I'm a nosey b****r). Looks complex: I (genuinely) wish you wisdom in making decisions and joy in your future family life. And I shall resist the temptation to suggest you "take her out" 8-)
Lol thanks Zabadak... that's just about made my mind up- it might be a sign from above...lol
Zabadak, I neither suggested you were mistaken or lying - simply that you were deliberately creating mischief. Apart from that the others here have said all that needs to be said.
Ok Naomi, peace be upon you. I mean no-one any harm. But can you now see that there is an expectation of future violence in the thread? At least a teeny bit?
