Hi Chuck further to a previous post re Sky+HD Box,this question is as follows:- Having changed to Sky Freesat I find I am unable to pre-programme box to change channels for different programmes,knowing that I can buy a PVR box that will do this,is it possible that there is a way that I can do this with my present Sky+HD box ?

You cannot change or reprogramme the channel line-up a Sky/ Sky Freeview box. They are the same box.
Try using the Favourite channel (blue) button system in it.

I think it is just a limitation of the Sky system and subscription to prevent the use of a + box in the way you wish to use it.
A sort of "brand protection & elitism" I assume.
The best is a Humax, of course (and they are very upgradeable)

It appears AlBags may be at crossed purposes. As I read the question, it is about the inability of Sky+HD STBs to automatically change channel when a reminder is set.

This is because with all flavours of Sky+ having an in-built recorder it was deemed that the AutoView available to original Sky digital STBs had become redundant. This is for the most part true until you no longer subscribe to the PVR functions of Sky+.

Was just curious that if you only used a desktop PC mainly for surfing can an Ipad fully replace it?
For example can you plug an ipod into it to charge and sync?

Used to use the pc for so much more but not nowadays so am looking to replace either with laptop or Ipad.
