Do we really need these police community support officers?

Whatever happened to the 'Specials'? they seemed to have disappeared off our streets.

This voluntary force seemed to have more impact on the community than these PCSOs, and are cheaper.

There are more than 15000 serving in the UK, so they are still about.

No we dont need plastic Bobbies. They are totally useles, cant even help people across the road.

Watched two of them the other day gassing as I walked down the road. I went into tTesco and back and they were still there laughing and joking.
It is 'policing' on the cheap.

But the Government plan to slash the police budget, so expect more of them not less.
they are a pig in a poke
The last thing I heard was they were producing more of those carboard cutouts and placed conveniently to deter wrongdoing. While we're at it why not scrap Trident and pretend to the world its sitting below decks of the sub. Maybe a game of bluff will solve all our money worries.
