Relief from Toothache.
I know I have a weeny hole in one of my back teeth as I saw the hygienist last weekend. I am not due to see the dentist until next weekend. I have nearly just gone through the roof with the pain when I bit on something, ironicly lettuce!!. In desparation I took one of my husband's Co-proximol tablets and gargled with his whisky!! Can anyone let me know how I can gain some relief until next weekend. Toothache is the worst pain!!
p.s. I hate the dentist with a passion, but anything is better than this pain.

Think they contained Dihydrocoedine(sp) if that's any use?

The bset treatment for toothache is obvioulsy to have the problem identified and repaired, not much help in your case at present.
The best painkillers (despite what anyone else teel you) are Ibuprofen and paracetamol unless of course there is some medical reason why you can't take them.
Cloves don't work, god knows people say they do
Alcohol has no topical effect analgesic effect (your better drinking it) gargling just increases your risk of developing oral cancer so I wouldn't recommend
Temporary fillings have their place, but long term they'll simply allow leakage and further infection and breakdown of the tooth.
To the person that has had a temporary filling for 5 months, I'd be suprised if the tooth didn't have secondary decay (given there's no way you could have removed it initially), and perhaps is even non-vital (dead) now and a potential source of infection

a toothache is a dental cavity and the

home remedies like clove oil can provide temporary

I honestly can say the best thing to do is buy a pack on anadin extra (paracetamol) and also a pack of ibuprofen. Then you want to take 2 of the paracetamol and 2 of the ibuprofen and give it up to 20 mins the pain will go up to 4 hours.
and can be repeatedly taken every four hours also. depending on the pain at the worst should last for 3 and a half hours any less lasts for a while.
Hope this helps thanks.
