Any suggestions grateful.
I have had to put a collar onto my cat because of a flea problem.
This is making it very difficult for him to eat and I am worried that he is not eating enough. Any help please?

Surely your vet advised about this when they gave you the collar? Give the vet a ring - you should be able to take the collar off while he is eating.

Give him a small bowl so that it fits under the elizabethan collar. The cat will soon get used to it!

My cat spent his time in a collar walking backwards, terrified, trying to get away from it.

Take it off & use 'Advocat'

I have always find after that if you leave it on they get used to it quite quickly even though they walk in a zig-zag fashion with their nose on the floor!!

Depends what it is, kat - I know you know about these things, but there could be a skin problem, too late for Advocate this time? We find Advocate so runny after using Stronghold before, but it's all we can get now from our vet.

I presume that the flea problem has meant that he is scratching himself badly because his skin has become infected. It would be important to keep it on.

Sorry Box i didn't read the question right just jumped in! Take it off when the cat is feeding but stay with it.

there is always a chance you have the wrong size collar (unlikely) -cat will get used to it and take the preposted advice of a smaller feeding bowl (raise it slightly off the floor though) and let kitty get used to it.

It's true. Leave kitty alone and don't worry, they very quickly adapt. But watch the back of your legs, those collars can give nasty bruises!!
