Yes and Yes. Although cranberry tablets would be easier to get down them than the juice itself.

Yes to the cystitis question. And it's extremely painful in cats, and can cause bleeding from the bladder. Suggest catching cat as she crouches to wee and quickly pop a pad of white kitchen towel underneath to catch the wee (it won't be a lot). If there is any sign of pinkness or even red, then get the cat to the vet quickly, as it will need antibiotics to cure it. Don't delay, it won't get better, it will only get worse, with a lot of suffering for the cat. My cat has just gone through an episode of very distressing cystitis, but it cleared up in 3/4 days with the proper medication. Hope all goes well. But it really is urgent.

yes they can. My cat also recently suffered this & was in alot of discomfort. I myself thought that this would clear up but after a couple of days noticed that there was blood in her urine ( my cats have an out door litter tray) . My only advice is to take your cat to the vets immediately as i believe that antibiotics is the thing that will clear this up.

Just a half a teaspoon in some water, starting 3 times a day for a week and then decreasing gradually over another couple of weeks. The symptoms were relieved after the first dose and he has never had cystitis since!

I can't praise this stuff enough, please try it if your cat suffers from cystitis, it's a 'miracle' cure, and totally natural too.

I lost my 3 year-old male cat to cystitis in July (OK, it was aggravated by a nasty tom cat that was about and he got hepatitis as well, but the cystitis didn't help) - get your cat to the vet, soonest!!!

I just returned from vet on Nov 4th and go back Nov 18th for followup for my 8 yr old female cat for cystitis.

1) They gave her a shot of Convenia that supposed to last 2 weeks to fight the infection. Well, she still continued to have problems urinating outside box w/blood in urine, etc..

I researched the internet a million places and started doing the below and she seems better, no more spotting outside litterbox and I dont see any more blood, but I will take her back for follow up visit. Below is what I've been doing.

a. At Walmart I got Spring Valley Natural C vitamin 500 mg. Cut it in half and crushed it. Mixed it up in a mixture of just a very little bit of baby food (turkey) and Sheba can cat food. I do this in am then in pm.

b. Throughout day I offer her wet cat food, heat it just a tiny bit in microwave so it smells better to her. She was primarily eating only dry, so very hard transition for me, but its getting there. This way she gets some water in the wet food because she doesn't want to drink alot or much water.

c. I give her 1 CatBerry Treat-Ums twice a day.

d. I give her Natural Care Feline Urinary Support which has cranberry in it. I cut this into qtrs, give her a qrt twice a day, but have to insert them into a Greenies Pill Pocket for her to take it. She's very finicky, so nerve-racking for me, but I have to trick her into taking the cranberry.
(petsmart has both of these also)

I hope this helps. I think the Vitamin C has helped the most. It strengthens their bladder.

Several sites advised on Apple Cider Vinegar is a miracle for this. But geeze, my cat in no way will take it. I tried and tried, you just cant hide that smell!

Best thing I've found is Cystaid capsules - twice a day for 5-10 days, then once a day. I sprinkle onto half a pouch of food, cover with remainder - works a treat! The vet charged me £7.30 for 15 capsules, but I can buy 240 for less than £50 online!
