Hotmail on iphone 4

I have recently set up my iphone to get my emails via the Mail icon on the phone (previously I opened the hotmail website and accessed them that way).
I still use my laptop as my main way of checking my emails and only use the phone occasionally.
However I notice that when I check my mail on the phone it opens every email I have received since the last time I used the phone to get my emails - and doesn't know that I have deleted some when I have been using my laptop.
Therefore I was wondering if there is a way that I can get the mail on my phone to 'synchronise' with my hotmail account thereby meaning that I don't have to delete everything twice?

This maybe isn't very clear but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about?!!

its a pain isnt it, the ipad is the same

on my iphone i just went to msn hompage and checked my email that way. it comes up in a mobile format and then i saved link on my homepage. (at least i think thats how i did it)

So now i just touch the hotmail icon on my screen rather than the mail icon

yes, that's what I used to do redcrx and I think it might be better that way.
The only hassle I had with that was that I had to enter my password every time. Is there a way around that?

i dont have to enter my password every time. i get asked maybe once every few days.
