Polly this is driving me mad. I have a John Williams Price, according to his census returns and his wedding certificate he was born between 1875 and 1877 in Pontypridd and I'm trying to find his parents in the censuses. The only thing I have to go on was his father was called Evan Price and was a Boilermaker. On his son's wedding certificate dated 1900 he is deceased. 31 Arthur Street was John's address when he got married.
I've found a couple of Evan Price's on the 1881 census with sons called John, (he was known as Jack) but neither of them are Boilermakers and the Johns birth are either a couple of years too young or too old.
I can only find one thats fits the bill, born in Cardiff 1875 but his father Evan was a shipwright and also still living in 1901, but i suppose it depends when the marriage was,he could have died after that.
