Attractive though the idea sounds, unfortunately he was cremated, so rather impracticable.
And in any case, Geezer, if Ted had not done the dirty on the electorate, Wilson or Callaghan would have done so soon afterwards.
Had the Liberals (all eight of them at the time) voted with the opposition the Bill would have been defeated.

We have a choice. To stick with our friends in Europe and create a trading area that benefits all Europeans equally. The alternative is to act as a junior partner to the US that benefits Americans but gives us the scraps.
They dug Oliver Cromwell up and stuck what was left of his head on a pole somewhere. Ted Heath doesn't deserve that. He led us on our first tentative steps towards the United States of Europe.
