Need some advice re buying tickets....
18 Answers
I am very dumb so sorry for being so thick!! I am wanting to buy 2 tickets for the Bon Jovi concert next year at Manchester. I have never been to a concert ever and have no idea what to expect. I cannot afford the best tickets unfortunately but on the get me in website there is only a small increase on the general admission tickets to a seat in E1 row 10. Please can anyone advise me on if it would be best to pay more for a guaranteed seat or to just turn up and hope for the best! In fact is this a guaranteed seat and can I trust this site for the tickets?

I bought a ticket from another website. They only send the tickets out a couple of weeks before the performance. You guessed it, a week or so before the show there was a "problem" with the ticket and would I accept one for another date and venue? I accepted as I really wanted to see the band. As luck would have it, this alternate date was a better show.

Different seats have different prices according to how close to the stage they are. Yes, if you book them from a reputable agent they will be yours and you won`t find someone else sitting in your seat. Sometimes the ticket arrives quite quickly but most of the time the ticket arrives a couple of weeks before the concert.
No dris I've seen your answer thanks its just that now I'm looking at the available tickets and it confused me further!
There is also 2 gold circle tickets on ebay which seem very cheap compared to ones on the genuine websites. Would this be a bad idea to get them from here or would you be protected financially?

Tigwig -be wary at the moment with ebay.Take That 'tickets' were on sale on ebay before they had even been released -the fraudsters are really at it big style and ther have been warnings issued.I would stick with the authorised sites even if its a few pounds more-much less hassle and youre guaranteed.Good Luck-get them before thay are sold out though as they were great on XFactor !!
OK - as a rule, you should buy from a reputable site - because, as advised, there are a lot of touts out there who will rip you off.
The chances are the gig will sell out - BG are a huge live attraction - so don't wait too long.
If you think you are going to be a long way back - and if it's the Arena, you can be a LONG way back, then take some binoculars with you - you'll be glad of them because the sound will be fine, and you need to be able to see to increase your enjoyment.
Most major bands have large viewing screens either side of the stage at stradium gigs, so with your biocs, you;ll see fine.
Leave plenty of time to get there - train is best because the station is right by the venue, but if you are driving, remember there will be a huge influx of traffic, and parking is at a premium, so get there as early as you can. Coming off the venue car parks can take up to an hour, so have a flask and some butties waiting to pass the time.
If you are on the train, take a jumper and coat with you - you can take them off inside, but you'll be glad of them when you come out.
Don't take food or drink with you - you will have it confiscated. if you want to buy food or drink in the venue, it is expensive, and there are big queues.
If you need any more advice, re-post - have a great time!

stick to a reputable agent, Ticketmaster is who I always use, ticketline have a good rep as well but if ticketmaster are sold out chances are you will have to pay way over the odds elswhere and they wont be very good seats. Been to the M E N many times and if you are way back you might as well stay home and play the disc!!
tigwig. I note that Ticketmaster says the tickets are not available. This link may explain why Ticketmaster told you that.

If you pay by paypal then if they dont appear you can open a dispute with the seller via them -thats if the sellers are still traceable by then.Dont get me wrong I know people who have bought successfully off ebay I also have heard of loads who have been left standing at the gates for T in the Park and have been scammed.
If they appear too cheap on ebay then dont touch them with a barge pole -people sell on there to make a profit.Thats the only advice i can give you apart from -do you have gumtree where you are? Some people were selling Take That tickets on there as they had managed to get pitch when they wanted standing and vice versa.Thats generally a more local thing. Good Luck
