Assuming this may not have been discussed before, how easy would it be to impliment a "preview post" function before submitting ?
The reason I suggest this is to give posters the option to review what they are about to post before submitting.
That way, it might give hot-headed posters (and I include myself in that) an "are you sure you really want to post that" moment.

Hmm, if we all did that, we'd eventually all be 24 hours behind...!
We'd have more sensible answers, box.
I am thinking along the same lines as you jno. :-) I wonder if Itsnotme does.?

Why bother?
It's not like you are posting loads of html or code .. and formatting much. Just a text window and a few links to look at.
It was great for spotting your typos.
It'd put MarkRae out of business, tho....
MarkRae doesn't really pick up typos, only genuine illiteracy, so he's be in gainful amployment for years yet.
ahem, you are invited to ignore the deliberate errors in my last post...
LOL!
I guess I've been 'marked down' then.

i think having to wait would irritate and put people off bothering to answer.

i am always baffled by this suggestion - why is it so hard for people to read their answer through in the same box?

what difference does opening a new window with the same identical text in make?
i take your point about making people think twice about submitting though...but perhaps and warning next to the submit button?

such as ' please review you post and press submit onlly if you are happy with it', sort of thing...

plenty of room on that orange bar for a message
Current spec for the preview would include the following:

*SpellCheck
*"Has this been asked before" (offering similar questions)
*and of course, a preview of how the question will appear to others

This won't be any time soon I am afraid...Sorry!

All the best,
