Much better than firelighters or newspaper.
yes i have one and yes i would recommend it
Paying £100 for something to read a book from seems like a lot of money to me. I think these really need to be a lot, lot cheaper and I guess they will be in a few years time. Until then I'll save the money and buy paperbacks. They just don't make sense to me at the moment.
it really works for me for a couple of reasons
1) i already have loads of books and they take up a lot of room
2) i find the kindle proces vary but for new books they seem cheaper
3) i have arthritis in my hands and i find holding the kindle much easier than holding a book
4) i spend a reasonable amount of time in hospital or off my feet per year and carrying round books is cumbersome. When i was last in hospital, i wa sin for longer than i thought and the 3g facility was invaluable because i could download books in hospital
I am an avid reader and I use a nokia 5800, I use a website called www.gospoken.com
ok it's a small screen but it 's handy as you've always got your phone on you.
Grrr !
grrr?
The concept of the Kindle annoys me.
Let's buy all our "books" as Amazon downloads.

Sooner or later, when Amazon have done to bookshops the same thing that supermarkets have done to High Street shops, we will have no choice but to buy from Amazon ... there will be no one else left.

After centuries of achieving universal availability of published works, sooner or later we will only be able to buy and read the things that Amazon deem to be economically viable to provide for us.

BUY BOOKS ... HOLD THEM, LOVE THEM !!
LOL

When I posted that last post, I got an AB site pop-up telling me not to post in capitals, because it was considered rude!

I wanted to reply ... SOD OFF !!

LOL
Blimey JJ, I didn't know there is a Capitals censor!

JJ I was/am considering buying one for my wife - I prefer books but progress tramples you, not always for the better.
