That song Tiger Feet has just come onto my fantastic local radio station that plays music from my school days. Was it sung by Mud, or the Rubettes, and which year was it? Must have been the early 70s

As a teenager I had a huge crush on Les Gray.
It was where this Morrisons superstore is now:

As Dotty suggests (and Mark's link confirms), Mud's 1974 Christmas hit was 'Lonely This Christmas'

Blue Christmas was performed by Ernest Tubb, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, Jon Bon Jovi and many others

He had sunglasses on and was chewin gum, he had a black leather jacket on too, I was 21, he did nothing for me at all. And 1976 was Johnny Mathis;s year, and I was absolutely mad on him lol
Mud only topped the charts in 1974. In 1976 Johnny Mathis had the Christmas number 1.

this was the record they must have been promoting but it doesn't ring a bell.

Excuse me peeps...

Dot, why are you cheating on Garth? ;-)
Because of where I was when they came to the store I know it has to be after October 1976 but before March 1977 because of who was there with me,
> 1976 was Johnny Mathis;s year, and I was absolutely mad on him

I'm afraid it wouldn't have been reciprocated, Dotty:

because I've been watching epdisodes of Lancer and I have a crush on Johnny Lancer lol poor guy, he was crippled by a drunk driver back in the 1970s,
yes mark, I've known that for 30 years or more lol The record reps were full of gossip, except the RCA guy, he was brilliant, used to come in a big van every Monday and you could go in the back and choose the stock, Elvis, John Denver, Jim Reeves, brilliant it was.
Oh, Mud, went to see them live a with friend, she was a great fan of theirs, she jumped onto the stage..................and was quickley thrown out!..........I watched the whole gig, it was great!..................

It`s interesting reading about all your experiences in the music industry. The more gossip, the better. Bring it on! I`ve met a few famous music people in my day though. I would love to write a book but I couldn`t because I would be sued.

Since you believe that 1976 was such a great year, this list might bring back a few memories for you:

Thanks Chris. Yes, it does bring back memories from that year. I don`t care what anyone says, that was one of the best years ever.
I once drove a minibus load of twenty-something young ladies home after a New Year's Eve party. After some dubious drunken singing, they decided they felt sorry for me because I was driving and not able to join in with their revelries. Figuring, correctly, that I'd been a teenager in the 1970s, the proceeded to sing the whole of 'Tiger Feet', word perfect.

A week later, I spoke to two of them. "Do you still remember 'Tiger Feet'?", I asked. "What's that?", came the answer.

I'd also heard the entire life history of the great white shark that night, but I wasn't going to go there.
Yes, I remember it well. One of the hottest summers on record as well...
You're giving your age away, Mark ;-)
