Thank you for taking part in last week's links, but maybe they were a little too straightforward for you, so I'll try and make this week's challenge more interesting.

The scene for me moved from France to Dublin, where I found myself at University. How, I'm not entirely sure, since the Irish Entry System then (as now) did not rely on interviews, teachers’ references or personal statements, and I had applied for a science-based degree without any relevant Leaving Certificate Sciences among the eight subjects that I had taken. Perhaps, they put all the applications in a bag and played lucky dip? I prefer to think they used the time-honoured method of examining the entrails of a goat!

Not taking part in the quiz, but am I right in thinking that Dubliners have a fondness for rhyming descriptions? I'm sure I've heard of Molly Malone being referred to as, 'The tart with the cart'. There are others, but for the life of me I cannot recall a single one.
