For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.don't waste your money on goose, would never have one again. got it from our local very reputable award winning butcher who also gave me the cooking instructions for it. there was barely enough meat on it for the 4 of us, and what there was was stringy and sinewy. given that it cost almost £50 it was a total and utter waste of money, and this year i'm back to a supermarket ready basted turkey which have always been succulent and tender.
we went for a change last year and had a lovely joint of beef - yorkies etc.
it was delicious and easier to do - no faffing about with those pesky 'trimmings'!
But - I didn't half miss the turkey and cranberry butties, and the delicious boxing day turkey soup! Also, the house didn't seem to smell right! LOL
