The link is a famous picture of some sanitation workers who went on strike for equal pay and equitable treatment, they are walking down the road carrying a sandwich board written upon it is "I am a man."
The law denied them equality, so they defied the law.
But still you will encounter racial prejudice, try telling them blacks are equal.
There is a tendency amongst many people to view their way as not only the right way, but the only way.
Sunni is better than Shia, Protestant is better than Catholic, Hindu is better than Muslim, atheism is better than all of the above, meat is murder, vegan is better than vegetarianism, even democracy, democracy is the least worst form of government but all countries differ in the constitution of their democracies so they get attacked for it.
The notion that my way is the right way for everyone is absurd, it's as equally fatuous for others.
Why is it so hard for some to accept that people are all different, and respect that?
