Given the concerns about peodos accessing pics of children on Facebook and similar sites, is it wise to post pics of children here?

I think the whole worlds gone mad.. These paedos have turned alot of perants paranoid.. I could'nt believe it a few years ago when i was told i could'nt take a picture of my granddaughter who was swimming in the local swimming pool.. i took it anyway, why should,nt I.. Lets face it there are alot of sick people in the world.. who get turned on at the sight of kids ..they have always been around so why is it only recently that people are doing stuff like stopping cameras at nativity plays.. its because everyone is going mad..
I should obviously change my avatar then.....
Since the majority of ABers are reasonably anonymous anyway, someone would have to work quite hard to identify the child from the stuff we choose to tell people on here about ourselves. We like to see each others' pets and children, even if the pics are only up for a little while.
The thing is, no one wants to think that their kids pics would be used for any unseemly purpose. But realistically, if they were we'd never know and it's not actually going to affect the children in the pictures. It's not like some psycho paedophile is going to become obsessed with a snap of a baby and manage to track said child down, insinuate themselves into the family's lives and be given the opportunity to act on that obsession, is it?
