Saw Aled on 'Breakfast' this morning and he was speaking of a song where a boy soprano sings 'Walking In The Air' while he sings a lower part - different words - at the same time.

Does anyone know of this song??

Not sure if he just sings along to a recording from 1982 or if another artist is used

TIA

The original hit version of this song, and the one used on the film The Snowman, was by Peter Auty, if that helps.
That is not true. Peter Auty sang it in the film The Snowman, and Aled Jones had the hit single.
Auty never had a hit with it.

Buenchico's answer will be the one puternut was looking for.
However, in response to the suggestion that my first answer was not true, Peter Auty's version charted in 1985 (at the same time as Aled Jones), albeit only in the lower regions of the charts.

Whether one classifies number 42 in the charts as a 'hit' or not is of course a debatable point. I suspect a number 42 single in 1985 probably sold as many copies as a top 10 single nowadays.

Thanks all for the replies. I did not know he was singing the same words as Aled Jnr as he said something like 'The musical arranger wrote a different part for me'

I assumed he meant new words rather than just a new melody.

I did know about Peter Auty singing but not charting so all honours even. I do think Buenchico has the best answer and I will try to get this d/l or a copy of an mp3

Again - Thanks all
I'm sorry but I don't understand, is it for charity or something, surely he can't be milking it for just doing some half-a**ed backing vocals.
