You've seen them with their 4X4s do they realise because it states 4X4s that that are still prone to sliding? one knob head paid the price last night around our area when he / she thought the heap of crap that they were driving was was not going to slide on the Ice, it's a pity that they don't find out what 4X4 stands for apart from the obvious.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.4x4s are more about torque than traction. That's why they are off-roaders...great on uneven ground and rough terrain. It's the big tyres that give the most help with traction. In a 4WD you are less likely to get into a slide but, once they do, you have less control than in a 2WD. Anyone who thinks they can drive a 4x4 without taking the same precautions as anyone else is a moron and deserves all they get! As long as they don't hurt anyone else in the process I think it serves them right. I have the option of 4WD in my car but rarely ever need to use it even though I live in a rural area.
an interesting discussion about this very subject:

Zippy, believe me I am not against 4X4s whoever has them then that's their choice, I drive a German car That's my choice, This Pratt I'm on about was a right @rsole, I will help anyone in trouble except for the likes of this bloody Idiot, the point I was making especially this moron that his heap of crap does not slide but I saw different. there are other ways to control cars in the snow / Ice but it seems a lot of people have not been taught that way of driving.
