We have just endured a third power cut, had one every week now for three weeks, dinner ruined, heating bu88erd, cost of candles from Wilkinsons, fish tank filter stopped, couldn't watch Emmerdale, life is just getting so hard, I'm off to Australia next Christmas, BBQ on the beach will suit me fine.

puss I'll book the same week and we'll spend it sunning instead of slumming! I;m sick of the lack of attention the roads have had, I reckon it;s cos the county council assume most people have finished work for the holiday season, the traffic on the M6/M61 last night was horrendous. If it was a lottery and my chances of a 'bump' increased with the number of jouneys I took in this weather I;d not get decent odds, it's appalling, And today, on my day off,. I noticed 5, yes 5 buses, one behind the other all covering the same route! If I can get through 8inches of slush i am sure a bloody bus can!
When do you need the cat carrier back BTW, I'm not sure I can get up to drop it off this side of Christmas if it is going to be bad on the roads but I could drive up to yours in the new year

I know how hard it must be for you workers (dotty) getting to work must be a nightmare, my gripe is with United Utilities, they said earlier that an overhead cable was down...we haven't got overhead cables, they spent last summer digging our gardens up putting all cables under ground....but who am I to question the call, centres in outer Mongolia, Janet seemed really nice but didn't really understand English.

Don't worry 'bout the cat carrier, don't need it at the moment. Next year will be fine.
pmsl ... this isn't extreme weather ... by a long way.
exactly my point naz, if my little peugeot automatic has manaed to get into work with 8-10 inches of snow fall, how come half the layablout nomarks couldn;t shift their arses and go into work?

According to the whole effing country coming to a standstill, roads, railways, airports, extreme weather is what we are getting.
If we ever get extreme weather here, a lot of people are going to be in for a shock, pmsl.

This current 'flurry' proves just how unprepared we are, but it's by no means extreme, I promise.

When you can stand on top of the phone box, THEN you can start quoting 'extreme', lol

Just want to say...extreme weather are not my words......I'm taking the p*ss.
Our village normally gets a power cut when it snows and is blamed on power cables miles away.
Luckily this hasn`t happened this time round and I agree it is a pain as we have no gas supply here so we can`t even make a cuppa
