Is the AB censor mechanism a bit too over-zealous?  Should everyday, non-profane words like ****** and ***'** be starred out?

I once worked at a place where the computers wouldn't let you type in Scunthorpe because of the profanity in the middle.  Surely someone, somewhere can write a censoring program that recognises that sometimes a profanity isn't profane.

This very site used to star out Scunthorpe and even Weightwatchers (look in the middle). But those got fixed. I imagine people had to "allow" these words manually and Crystal Guides Ltd have neither the time nor the staff to do this.

What were they words you described as "non-profane"?

The words I used in the question were *-*-*-*-*-u (or *-*-*-*-z-u depending on you rpoint of view) and *-*-*'*-* short for who are.
