When choosing a bed what does the rating mi stand for

If you mean 'an M1 rating' it can stand for 'National Accessible Scheme Ratings Mobility 1' , and is used to describe, e.g. hotel accommodation. It means that the accommodation is accessible to persons with reduced mobility, but who are able to climb stairs unaided, although the addition of further support fixtures and fittings would be of further benefit.
