I think it is a mistake but the final part of the puzzle is solveable without it.

I thought that 35D was missing too, so I emailed Mike Laws. When/if he answers I'll pass it on. I've completed most of the puzzle but am having trouble with 1D as the word I thought it could be doesn't seem to be in my dictionary. I'm sure I've made a mistake somewhere. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Hi indy trier. The solution to 1d is an anagram of poet and one girls with the starting letter of the solution not included in the word play. The word is in Chambers. I agree with you about 35d it doesnt exist! Look forward to your answer from Mike Laws

Well - I've now virtually completed this puzzle, apart from the elusive 35D! However - having found the unclued words, the quote words and the eleven letters I now have a problem with 5D. I have all the checked letters but can't find a third letter that makes any sense with the rest. Any tips gratefully received.

Hi again Indy-trier. For 5d presumably you have e(from east)d-l. Go through the various vowels to find the missing letter or better still look up "Some Christian Names" at the back of Chambers. You wiil soon find the answer. I havent decided to send in this crossword or not. I suppose I could wait to saturday for the possible appearance of the missing clue or send it in with one cell empty. What are you going to do?

Doh! Thanks snikwal! I completely forgot about looking in the names section. I rarely get around to submitting my completed puzzles, although I did think of sending last week's one in as it was fun and I finished it quickly. With this one I'm just pleased that I've had help to put it to bed. I can now relax!!
