I'm going to buy a new one today. How to chose...how to chose. There's a Haus for £180 which has better reviews than (can't remember the make) for £380...they appear to do exactly the same thing as well...

Would you go for the cheaper option?

Sometimes the cheaper option is a false economy - I love my whirlpool and I have had it for 10 years doing at least 7 washings a week.
7 washes a week???? i do one :-)

I bought the cheapest I could find years back ( I was only young ) and that lasted me about 10 years...
yes mcfluff - luck you! I do a wash every day and usually 2 each day at the weekend - depends on how many times kids have been swimming etc. Between kids and husbands uniforms and sports gear (including Judo suits!) and bedding and towels and then our normal clothes, if I don't keep up with it it can get out of hand pretty quickly. Kids go swimming at least twice a week, plus sports clubs, school gym gear, the judo suits, cub and scout stuff etc. so I do a wash every day and shove it on the pully and OH does an ironing every day and takes it upstairs then we put away our own stuff.

Ummmm - I think sometimes it is the luck of the draw - i've known expensive ones break down at the drop of a hat too. I do love my whirlpool though :o) I think the trick is to get as few functions as possible and if you can get a manual button/dial rather than an electronic one it is easier to fix, but you don't get many of those nowadays.
sorry for the delay, ummmm, but you have FB mail :)
