Not finished yet, but the grid fill is going smoothly, the theme has been cracked and therefore some reverse solving can take place, but, the rugby is beckoning. Certainly one for beginners and newcomers to have a go at (unlike last week).

Andrew- was that the hint?
it was, i was rather proud of it
Thanks AndrewG-S, it helped me. Now I have to find the location; I nearly always find the hidden things difficult to spot.
Too cryptic for me I'm afraid!!
Think about the piece of paper.
Ah, now I see what Andrew meant. A very neat clue which baffled me completely!
In answer to Scooterbug, I agree that there are two possible ways to interpret the instruction and it is perhaps disappointing that the required highlighting does not resolve the issue. However, my opinion is that no further manipulation is required but would be interested to hear others' views.
I concur Silversolver filling in the blanks is sufficient.
All done on a small island off the Thai coast, without any BRB or computer aides, so quite chuffed - I am sure we will be bamboozled this weekend ...
thanks Perserverer, I pretty much guessed what that one penny was but i'm not au fait with that genre if you get my drift but a key word helped me along and a kick from a kind friend also helped stop me going around the houses literally.
I have too many clues where I can't see the missing or additional letter to make sense of the instruction so I am going to have to go with the "no further manipulation" option.
The thematic location is surely pretty easy to guess and easy to find, or was I just lucky?
First time I've logged on to this week's thread. Relieved to have something easier. Scotland have just scored again! My problem was that I totally lost my first grid when nearly finished so had to start again. It was obviously easier, but I had forgotten one or two of them. Had a brainwave in the middle of night about the first word of the instruction and all was plain sailing to finish before breakfast. I gave up on the last one.
Teuchter2 the raving Scottish nationalist hopes you were backing Scotland :)
The message was perfectly accurate. "Melangez..." is an instruction, and when you completed the the unclued answers, that is exactly what you did
