Well I can see this being the first of many baby related questions I'll be asking in the coming months!

little one has got a touch of colic, and I've found the only way of comforting her is when she is laying on her stomach, on my chest - is this ok? She settles well and falls asleep there. So many professionals have been saying not to let her sleep on her front, does that just apply to the cot? Sorry for my complete ignorance!

She is being bottle fed, and yep, got some ones that claim to reduce colic, hmmm.

I'm doing well thanks anne, we are both getting to know each other nicely! She hasn't been registered as yet but I think we're opting for Sian
There are also massage techniques to try.

Can someone slap me very hard please - I am feeling broody
It could be because their stomachs are still developing and once they reach 3 months they have developed enough to potentially take in solids. I did hear that many years ago 3 months was the age that solids could be introduced. However that has now changed to 4 months onwards, although 6 months is recommended.

I've only just realised I've got no avatar - what the hell is going on?!
Sorry to be so pessimistic, but we tried everything with the Son-and -heir and sadly, nothing worked.
He was breast fed, so I don't think there's much difference between breast and bottle feeding as far as colic is concerned.
However, like another of your responders, it stopped like magic never to return when he was 12 weeks old.
Mrs O , slap me back as hard please!!

jb Sian is a lovely name, just comfort babby and rub her back :D
