Arsenal vs Leyton Orient tonight. Will have a little bet when I get to the stadium.

I'm thinking 3-1. They'll want to make up for the weekend. In a way.

Any suggestions?

Is that 3 - 1 to Arsenal ?
Here`s a suggestion

Ask the rest of your fans to sit in their seats at least half an hour before kick off rather than 2 minutes before kick off, that way you might actually get some sort of atmosphere going in the stadium

Your stadium is the only one in the world where the away fans make more noise, apart from when you score

ps, matches last 90 mins + any injury time so why does your stadium half empty 15 mins before the end?

Well, there we go. I thought my 3-1 was generous.

Elvis, I sense you feel quite strongly about this. Well, I actually agree with you. Since Arsenal moved to the Emirates the atmosphere has never been what it should be. When they played Barca there a few weeks ago it was a different story and that's how it should be for every match. One theory it's like this is because alot of the season tickets are owned by companies. Every time I go there, and every time my bf goes there (which is most home matches) there is always someone different sitting next to you. This means the companies give the tickets to whoever wants them for that match and it's often people who don't really give a monkeys, they just want a day out at the football. The atmosphere from Arsenal fans when you go to away games is different because it's the 'real' fans that make the effort to go to them.

In regards to leaving before the whistle is blown..... all I can say is last night it was bloody cold in the upper tier and when we were 5-0 up, we decided leaving a couple of minutes early to catch the train before the masses would be ok. :o)
Don't worry milly, elvis is mr. angry and has left the building !
Thanks for your reply milly, I`m a spurs fan and sometimes as much as it pains me to do so I have to take my son to the Emirates when my brother in law can`t go and he lends us his season ticket, fantastic stadium, but the atmosphere is crap

Last night listening to radio 5 commentry, 15 minutes before kick off the commentator said the fans are staying away after the carling cup final loss...little did he know that is the norm at the Emirates..ie....take your seats 2 minutes before kick off

My mate went there (Leyton Orient fan) and was surprised at the lack chanting by the home fans

ps..why do you have the "Wonder Of You" as your entrance song?
Question Author
You know, I actually asked the other day why we have The Wonder of You and it appears nobody knows why. They wanted a song when they moved to the Emirates and chose that one, although there is no apparent reason.

Of all the games I have been to, the game against LO was the worst in terms of attendance and atmosphere and I do think that the Birmingham defeat had a something to do with it. We know quite a few Arsenal fans and alot said they just didn't feel like going on Tuesday - feeling a bit disallusioned (sp) with it all.

Funny you should say about taking the seat 2 minutes before kick off. We were having a chat with the landlord of the local last night, who is a Tiny Tots fan. He said his visit up there the other was the first time he had seen kick off in 4 years. ;o)

It must be hard having a son who is a gooner. My bf is the same, his dad supports Tottenham and their house is called White Hart Lane. It pains him every time he walks into the house. Unfortunatley for them, their surname is also that of another big club which makes matters worse.
