On my CV under the work experience section I've got the two weeks I did in the summer of 2009 and I've got the backstage crew stuff that I'm doing now. But nothing proper under 2010 which IMo doesn't look to good, BUT last summer I did a lot with cadets including my power level 2 certificate and first aid so i didn't have time to get a job especially with going away for a week on a boat and a week away to france.
Instead of having 2010 blank should i mention the boating qualifications, first aid certificate and the week away where we were working on the boat part of the time, rather than it looking as if I was lazy and did nothing that summer?
Save whatever you have done on your CV to a memory stick and go back and update it as and when you need to. As said above, concentrate on your education first and then sort the CV out. There are websites like Monster that can help with CVs as and when you need it.
alex, he started with a apaper round, then he did stuff like the avon magazine and working in a call centre and in a gift shop (which he got made redundant from cos they couldn't afford to pay him £3 p/h!) and at some holiday sportsy place and now he's got a job at a different holiday park . . .
you could list it under achievements or professional training.
i agree though - i very much doubt they will check each date and work it all out - you are 17 and they will not be expecting tonnes of jobs and a level work history.
and aside from anything - you are entitled to have gaps - you are 17 and just left school!
from what you have said i very much doubt a gap will make them think you are lazy...
