Has Gary Glitter songs in it, this surely is gross or do you think because of the nature of the show, it is acceptable?

the problem is glitter gets paid for this in royalties which is why you dont hear his songs on the radio
Glee is american, the song, although GG over here, was covered by someone else in the states and over there ISN'T a controversial choice
The episode of Glee is due to air on Channel 4 next month.

true postdog but he wrote it so he gets paid royalties
No he sold the royalties a long time ago. I dunno how he lives, but it's not royalties - aside from anything else, as I think someone has said, who'd play his stuff now.
Hey Bobbs, here's a GG song that's you to a 'T' ..... can you guess what it is yet?

Here we go .....

"Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again!"

(Sorry Bobbs - only pulling your leg lass) ..... :o)
Oops .... sorry peeps, didn't realise this wasn't in CB. :o(
Didnt know that postdog I thought that was why they stopped playing them. Oh well wrong again. lol
it's not like to song is advocation abusing children, or the song itself abuses children
I bought a single of his in the days when he was called Paul Raven, early 60s.
I quite like a lot of his music - and The Glitter Band too. Saw them perform live and enjoyed it very much.
It was Joan Jett in the states, so I guess that's who they were parody - ing (is that a word)

I don't like hearing the tunes though - one of his featured as a theme in american hockey games, and I recall hearing it in a film once in the hockey setting. I also went to a do once and the DJ played one - boy did I rip into him!
Paul Gadd did not "sell his royalties" - he is a co-writer of the song and receives payment for any performance in any version.

Hewlett Packard used the Joan Jett version of the song in a US ad a few years back which netted him royalties measured in £100,000s and this will be repeated from sales of the Glee albums and show broadcasts.
gotta be better than the bent cox being straitened on Embarrassing bodies ;)
He obviously turned out to be a repulsive man and paedophilia is a horrible crime but reacting with disgust to his songs is a bit over the top.

Chris Langham was convicted of having child porn on his PC but that doesn't stop me watching early episodes of The Thick of It with him in as it's very funny and he's very good in them. But I'm guessing some of the contributors to this thread wouldn't watch them.

Personally, I wouldn't watch Glee!

Mrs C, a gentle jibe is a lot of fun imo so no worries there,
I used to think GG was great till I saw him wigless..LOL
The sad thing is that his songs are really good i think, what a shame that he turned out like he has.
It is a shame that we now tend to alienate the music because of the artist. Gary Glitter was and is a low life outside of what he achieved within the music industry. The music was and is still good.
