If someone is given a suspended sentence, say for two months, if they get prosecuted for anything else while it lasts does that mean they automatically have to serve those two months in jail, or is it left to the discretion of the judge?

It's discretionary but the court has to start with the assumption that the sentence willl be activated in full, and then consider whether any alternatives could apply. See page 26:
