Late people......
Elizabeth Taylor apparently ordered that her funeral should start at least 15 minutes after the published time in order to fulfill her wish to be late for her own funeral On that note she was obviously what I call a "late person" ie late for everything. As the complete opposite myself I've often wondered why some people are always late and how disorganised their lives must be. So can the punctually challenged have a go at enlightening me, thanks!

I have a couple of siblings who are like that. Quite a long time ago we worked out if we needed them to be somewhere, we had to tell them the time was an hour earlier then it really was. Sometimes they make it on time.
I'm the complete opposite. I hate being late for anything. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to the doctors surgery but if I have an appointment I end up leaving about 20 minutes early. I always think things like, what if it takes me ages to get over the cross roads, what if that van is parked on the road and I have to wait 10 minutes to give way to everyone, what if there are no parking spaces. Then I end up sitting in the surgery waiting room for an hour as the doctor is running late.

I was always taught that ten minutes early for any appointment is polite and I tend to stick to that because I'm quite 'manners conscious' a lot of the time (unless I want to offend someone on purpose, that is).
I don't think people's being late is so much a matter of being disorganised as just laid back or of being unconcerned with people's feelings.
