i bought a cheap sunroom last year, (it was all i could afford) as i needed another room
but as its cheap and flimsy it does not have any opening windows.

http://www.norfolk-gr...shop/buy-Sun-Room.php

the fixed windows are made of about 3mm perspex and the roof is made of very thin polycarbonate probably about 5mm (not like standard conservatory polycarbonate)

i have a small solar powered roof vent which i bought from the same company as the sunroom but it does not do very much at all, i also bought some coolkote conservatory roof film which was expensive, it helps a bit, but today its unbearable out there, i know i can open the door when i am indoors but not if i am out.

i thought of a caravan roof vent but the polycarbonate would never take the weight, just wondered if anyone had any suggestions

thank you

what about those simple bathroom vent extractor fan things, the other way round, in each pane?

cheap and easy and will let cool air in
I have to say the best thing would be to cut an opening and fit a window or a large vent of some sort.
Ifyou're not keen on that .......... a couple of things I can think of......... you could fit opening restrictors to the door (usually fitted to upstairs windows to let you open a window but not enough to let a child fall out). You could go out and leave the door "ajar" then. Not ideal I know.
What about fitting an American style "screen door" (sort of mesh door) .......... right in front of your regular door. This would have to be heavy duty enough to be "secure", but it would mean you could open the existing door fully while you're out.
(I'm assuming it opens inwards.)

i thought the same as you about cutting an opening for a window but the fixed windows are made of about 3mm perspex and can't think of anything light enough for the perspex to take the weight of, as we really would prefer a window or opening, i wished i could have afforded a proper conservatory with windows at the time.

thank you joko and The Builder for your great answers
