William Bellwood

I'm struggling with this guy who was my grandma's eldest brother.
He was born in York in 1887, in 1891 he's in hospital, and in 1901 he's at home with his family............after that....nothing.
I can't find him in the 1911 census, or marrying, or dying, or in WW1. I suppose he may have emigrated but I don't have access to those records...........any thoughts please?

When I look closely at the 1911 census which his widowed father filled in incorrectly it looks as if there are only 5 living children and as I know where 5 of them were in 1911 William must have died..................

there's a William Bellwood marrying Georgina C Anderson in York Q 3 1917

the only close death is one registered Birmingham Q 4 1907, born about 1886

Nothing really fits in the emigration records on ancestry unless his father was James Bellwood who lived in Morecambe at one time. Or unless William lied aboutn his age and the town in Yorks he was born in and went to massachusetts in 1907

There are only 44 William Bellwoods in the country in 1911 and only one born 1887 and it's not him. I think I'll take a punt at that death certificate dotty................

Where do you get the outgoing passenger lists from dotty?

on ancestry under immigration. The one William Bellwood says he was born Bradford, right age, a grocer, went out in 1907 then came back 1913 with a wife and child

Before you do that craft have a look at the 1911 for any Bellwoods living in the Birmingaham area, he may have had a wife and family down there

I've just checked the 1901 for Birmingham for the William Bellwood who's death was regsitered at Birmingham oin 1907 and no hits at all
